Turkish Ambassador Visits Ministry of Defense at the End of Mandate
CHISINAU, December 8, 2011 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta met Thursday, December 8, at the Ministry of Defense with the Ambassador of Turkey to Chisinau, Ahmet Ferit Ulker, on the conclusion of mandate in the Republic of Moldova.
Vitalie Marinuta congratulated the Turkish official on the conclusion of mandate of Turkish ambassador to Moldova wishing him success in his diplomatic career.
The Minister of Defense appreciated the high level of bilateral military cooperation relationship with Turkey pledging for a further development of the defense cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister of Defense thanked the official for the professional training opportunities provided by the Turkish state to the National Army servicemen in the specialized institutions of Turkey, mainly referring to the Partnership for Peace Training Center of Ankara.
The Ambassador of Turkey stated that being an Ambassador of Turkey to Republic of Moldova had been a privilege for him and his country would keep maintaining an efficient partnership with the Republic of Moldova.
“I am highly satisfied with the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation and I am sure that, in the near future, Moldova and Turkey will achieve its European Union integration goal. I am optimistic about the Republic of Moldova’s European bright future for Moldova has got a good geographical condition and a generation of young ambitious people striving to change things for better”, Ahmet Ferit Ulker said.
At the end of the meeting, the officials appreciated the opportunity to exchange opinions about different important issues and agreed on the further promotion of bilateral relationship between the Republic Moldova and Turkey, mainly focusing on the defense area as a priority of interstate cooperation.
The diplomatic relationship between the Republic of Moldova and Turkey was established February 3m 1993. Turkey is among the first ten most important economic partners of the Republic of Moldova.
