CHISINAU, February 2, 2012 — The National Army EOD engineers liquidated 169 explosive devices in Nisporeni, Orhei and Soroca districts, as well as in Chisinau city, in January.

 

According to LTC Mihail Semionov, EOD Commander of the National Army, Chief of EOD Department, the engineers carried out six missions of research, identification, liquidation and disposal of explosives.

The EOD teams of the Engineer Battalion and Stefan cel Mare Bigade destroyed three artillery projectiles of 76 mm, two mine launcher mines of 82 mm caliber and 164 bullets. All of these objects dated back to Second World War and were discovered by the local citizens during some construction works.

The National Army has got six well-equipped mine disposal groups carrying out missions on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
