Nearly 700 Soldiers Take the Oath of Enlistment in Balti and Cahul

CHISINAU, February 3, 2012 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta attended the oath ceremony held Friday, February 3, at Moldova Light Brigade from Balti.

During the event, Vitalie Marinuta stated the army oath ceremony is a unique moment in the young soldiers’ life.

“As soon as you take the oath of enlistment, you become a member of the National Army with all the obligations and rights of a military man in compliance with the legislation, regulations and orders in force”, the Defense Minister pointed out. “The military service a school of commitment and courage. You should be proud of being soldiers of the National Army and wear the military uniform with much dignity”.

Vitalie Marinuta asked commanders to be professional in the conscripts’ training process, by making the young men acquire strong weapon and combat equipment handling skills, strengthening the cohesion of units and raising their acting abilities in task operations.

“I want commanders to be professional, for their subordinates require competence and good examples to follow. Give them the opportunity to follow your examples, make them feel confident in their own abilities, teach them what honor and duty is, courage and the will to grow.

Make them be creative and gain skills which they would use further on in life, as soon as they complete their military service: at home, at work and in the community they live in”, Vitalie Marinuta said.

The event held at Moldova Brigade brought together representatives of the local authorities, parents, reserve staff and retirees, as well as war veterans. The guests got acquainted with the infrastructure of the unit, as well as with the military technical equipment and weapons.

Nearly 400 soldiers took the oath in Moldova Brigade. A similar oath ceremony was held at Dacia Light Brigade from Cahul, where nearly 300 soldiers took the oath in front of the interim Commander of the National Army, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian.
