New in the National Army – Girls along with Boys on the Recruit Day

CHISINAU, April 28, 2012 — About 500 young men from Singerei District participated in the Recruit Day events carried out by the Territorial Military Department (TMD) of the district, in common with the District Council.

The event included individual and team sports competitions. The winners were awarded diplomas and gifts. The recruits competed at 100-meter distance running, pull-ups and rope pulling. The visitors also had the possibility to watch wrestle exercises demonstrated by Moldova Light Brigade.

Addressing the Recruit Day participants, Maj. Snejana Nitrean, Chief of TMD Singerei, stated that, as soon as they join the army, conscripts discover a new world, where discipline and the honor of being a military man are a daily rule. “In the army, you will learn the daily schedule, physical training, make exercises and take part in drills. As soon as you are conscripted, you will get acquainted with the hardness, requirements and sacrifice of soldier’s life. All these things will make your character stronger”, the commissar of Singerei district said.

It is worth mentioning that girls took part in the sports competitions on the Recruit Day along with boys. Thus, they had the possibility to compete along with the future homeland defenders.

The Deputy President of Singerei District, Vitalie Tabarcea, stated the Recruit Day is a patriotic and civic event, for young men of Singerei district will be soon conscripted to the Armed Forces. Soon, they will wear a military uniform and take their oath. The mayor of Bilicenii Vechi village, Gheorghe Urechean, participant in the Dniester War, said the National Army has always been a school of brave people and patriotic education for hundreds and thousands of citizens.

Valeriu Rusu, Chief of the Department of Culture of Singerei district said the district administration intends to organize a few more cultural patriotic activities in future, meant to educate the young generation’s spirit of patriotism.
