American Cadets Visit Moldova

CHISINAU, May 29, 2012 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta met Tuesday, May 29, at the Ministry of Defense HQ, with a group of US Army cadets visiting the Republic of Moldova.

The Defense Minister appreciated the visit of the American cadets to the Republic of Moldova stating this visit would deepen their defense and security knowledge in this region.

“I am sure that, due to this visit to the Republic of Moldova, you will learn some accurate information about all the social and political life aspects in our country, as well as the role of the Republic of Moldova in building modern security architecture”, the Defense Minister pointed out.

The Chief of Defense Policy and Planning Department, LTC Vladimir Ababii, stated the goal of the US cadets’ to Chisinau focuses on learning about the activity of military units, exchange of experience in the defense area, getting informed about the educational process and the living conditions of Moldovan students and servicemen.

While in Moldova, the American cadets will be familiarized with some concrete aspects of the National Army activity, with the focus on present and future perspectives. They will learn about the role and missions, stages of development, modernization programs and main missions of the National Army.

During their stay in Moldova, the American cadets will also visit Stefan cel Mare Light Brigade, Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy, as well as military units of Chisinau and Balti garrisons.

The American cadets were deployed to the Republic of Moldova by the US Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Command and will be staying in Moldova from May 28 till June 15.
