Defense Minister Attends 2012 Wroclaw Global Forum


CHISINAU, May 31, 2012 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta attends May 31 — June 2 the 2012 Wroclaw Global Forum in Wroclaw, Poland.

During the event, the Defense Minister will hold a speech on the topic “The Path Forward for the Eastern Partnership”. Vitalie Marinuta will point out the Republic of Moldova Government’s efforts in consolidating democracy and will make a review of the agenda of the Chisinau Government on social and political reform.

"The 2012 Wroclaw Global Forum is organized by the US Atlantic Council. This year edition is entitled: Reinventing the West: Prosperity, Security and Democracy at Risk?. The event will bring together the former President of Poland (1995 — 2005) Aleksander Kwasniewski, the President of the Open Society Foundation Kalman Mizsei, the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Andrei Marga, the Ambassador UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Vitali Klitschko, and others.

The Wroclaw Forum will host over 200 important decision-makers and business leaders. They will discuss Central Europe’s role as a critical partner in US efforts to promote political, security and economic ties across the Atlantic.

Last year, Prime Minister Vlad Filat was the guest of the 2012 Wroclaw Global Forum. During the event, the Moldovan Prime Minister was offered the Atlantic Council’s Freedom Award. The Freedom Awards recognize extraordinary individuals and organizations that defend and advance worldwide democratic values.
