National Army Signal Officers Get Ready for “Combined Endeavor 2012”

CHISINAU, June 11, 2012 — National Army signal officers attend the final planning conference of Combined Endeavor 2012 Multinational Exercise, held June 11-15, in Budva, Montenegro.

According to Col. Igor Zavalski, Head of Communications and Information Systems Division, National Army Main Staff, the exercise organization plan is established at the conference that brought together service members of NATO member states and Partnership for Peace signatory states.

“Combined Endeavor 2012” Multinational Exercise will take place September 3-20, in Grafenwöhr, Germany. The event aims at increasing the level of operative compatibility, computer, technical and software security, through national C4 systems, meant to support multinational military contingents engaged in humanitarian, peacekeeping, military and weather disaster relief operations.

Col. Zavalski stated the National Army would contribute 15 servicemen and communications and computer equipment (radio stations, network equipment) to the exercise.

In 1998, the National Army joined Combined Endeavor exercise as an observer. In 1999, Moldovan servicemen actively engaged in this communications interoperability exercise.
