Ministry of Defense Enhances On-site Cooperation

CHISINAU, June 13, 2012 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta made a work visit to Cantemir district to enhance cooperation between the local public authorities and the Ministry of Defense.

During the visit, the Defense Minister discussed with the 1^st and 2^nd level local public authorities of Cantemir district some ways of cooperation with the local administrative military division and fixing the major problems they face.

One more important issue debated was the recruits’ enlistment in the Armed Forces and the youth military patriotic education, focusing on the qualitative selection and examination of the conscription resources meant to enlist young men to the military units and avoid cases of withdrawal from the army. The meetings with the mayors of the district dealt with the Republic of Moldova defense and security goals, including the progress achieved in the defense reform area.

While in Cantemir district, Vitalie Marinuta visited the office of the National Army Specialist Training Center that has the mission to prepare recruits for different jobs in the army.

Vitalie Marinuta also went to Ghiocel Kindergarten to familiarize with the working and studying conditions in the institution. The Minister of Defense offered gifts and school supplies to the children, encouraging them to grow healthy and become good defenders of their homeland.
