Military Sportsmen – 20 Years of Success



CHISINAU, June 22, 2012 — The Central Sports Club of the Army (CSCA) is a good promoter of the National Army and the Republic of Moldova sports all over the world. I am confident that the military sportsmen will be in top of the London 2012 Olympics, Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, stated during the 20th anniversary ceremony of CSCA.

Vitalie Marinuta highly appreciated the military sportsmen’s performances at different national and international competitions, stating that, by their success they promote both, a positive image of the National Army and the Republic of Moldova in the world. “I am sure the CSCA disciples will do their best at the London Olympic Games to make Republic of Moldova successful at the most important sports event of the year”, Minister of Defense stated.

The Prime Deputy President of the Republic of Moldova National Olympic Committee, Nicolai Piatac, said that, throughout 20 years of existence, CSCA has become famous for its sportsmen’s high performance at the most outstanding national and international sports events. “This year, CSCA has got the most numerous sports team representing Moldova at the London Olympics, which is a great plus for the development of the Moldovan sports worldwide”, Piatac specified.

The Head of the Central Sports Club of the Army, Victor Belevici, stated that 20 years of existence may be considered as a glorious period due to the successful participation of the CSCA sportsmen at the world and national sports competitions. “Our sportsmen that are in the top of world championship make our country famous all over the world. We are very proud to have our sportsmen representing the National Army at the London 2012 Olympics”, Belevici stated.

During the event, Vitalie Marinuta offered diplomas of honor and the Insignia of Gratitude to coaches and disciples of CSCA for their great results at different national and world competitions.

The Central Sports Club of the Army established June 24, 1992, currently has over 200 sportsmen aged 8-45 years old, that are trained at the following sports categories:, autocross, motocross, target shooting, biathlon, radiosport, airmodelism, polyiathlon, martial arts, weight lifting, athletic, and others.
