National Army Officers Attend “Sea Breeze – 2012” Exercise


CHISINAU, July 9, 2012 — Two National Army servicemen attend the Sea Breeze 2012 multinational peacekeeping exercise as officers of main staff. The event organized as part of Partnership for Peace Program is held July 9-21, in Ukraine.

According to Col. Oleg Ciulcov, participant in the exercise, the goal of the exercise is to enhance interoperability of multinational troops during peacekeeping missions. According to the scenario, the military men of the participating countries will be engaged in peacekeeping operations, counter piracy activities, amphibious and jumping operations“, Ciulcov stated.

The Joint Staff of the exercise will work in Odessa town, while most of the military activities will be held on sea.

This year, Sea Breeze Exercise will bring together about 500 servicemen from Ukraine, USA, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Greece, Denmark, Georgia, Moldova, Germany, Turkey, Poland and other countries.

“Sea Breeze 2011” is a multinational Partnership for Peace peacekeeping exercise. The National Army has been participating in this exercise since 2007. In 2011, the National Army deployed about 60 servicemen to the above exercise.
