Army Enrollment Campaign Starts

CHISINAU, October 29, 2012 — About 1700 young men will be enrolled in the Armed Forces during October 2012 — January 2013.

According to Col. Eduard Ohladciuc, Chief of J1 Personnel Directorate, National Army Main Staff, about 500 young men will be enlisted today in the National Army units. “Draftees will be deployed to training centers from Balti and Cahul to attend a five-week initial military training course”, Ohladciuc said.

The Chief of Personnel Directorate stated that different activities meant to prepare young men for this autumn enrollment had been organized in all the district and municipal military centers of the country, where they passed the required medical investigation.

The source said that this autumn, a variety o actions meant to insure the success of conscription process were planned and carried out, including the traditional Recruit’s Day and Doors Open Days.

According to the legislation in force, during October 2012 — January 2013, 1100 young men will be conscripted to the National Army and 600 — to the Carabineer Troops.
