Moldovan-Hungarian meeting at the Ministry of DefenseCHIŞINĂU, November 15th, 2012 — the Minister of Defense, Vitalie Marinuţa, had a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Hungary in Moldova, His Excellency Matthias Szilágyi. Vitalie Marinuţa congratulated Matthias Szilágyi on the occasion of his appointment to this position and expressed confidence that the cooperation relations between the two countries will get better. The officials discussed the current state of the Moldovan-Hungarian cooperation on defense and the identification of proper mechanisms to enhance it. In his turn, Matthias Szilágyi thanked the Minister of Defense for this meeting and for the support that the National Army offers in taking care of the graves and erecting tombstones in memory of the Hungarian heroes who died in the concentration camps that existed on the present territory of Moldova. Moreover, the Hungarian official mentioned that his country is willing to support the National Army in the process of military reform. “We will together identify the necessary mechanisms to develop the Moldovan-Hungarian relations in the military field, so as to have a dynamic cooperation in the future,” said Matthias Szilágyi. The Moldovan-Hungarian military relations are based on military cooperation agreement signed on November 25th, 1997. |
