Defense Minister Meets with Criuleni District Officials


Chisinau, February 19, 2013 — Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta paid a work visit to Criuleni district.

The visit included meetings with representatives of the local public administration and citizens of Criuleni district, where the parties discussed issues of common interest such as: defense cooperation between the two institutions with a focus on achievements and goals. “Over the past few years, the National Army recorded performances at a variety of points regardless of the austere budget we have. We succeeded due to our professional service members, young people from all over the country, including Criuleni, that realize the importance of our missions and goals”, Vitalie Marinuta said.

The Defense Minister expressed his hope that people in charge of conscription process from Criuleni district would keep insuring the strict selection of young men for military units, both as enlistees and active duty.

The Head of Criuleni District Council, Vitalie Rotaru, appreciated the joint interest of both institutions for the organization of some joint activities in promoting military-patriotic education.

Minister Marinuta also met with a number of local citizens from Criuleni district to speak about the conscription process in the National Army, defense and security policy of the Republic of Moldova and the reform of the National Army.

Vitalie Marinuta visited the Military Administration Department and the headquarters of the National Army Specialized Training Center from Criuleni.

The Defense Deputy Minister Igor Panfile has also had a work visit to Telenesti.
