Oath Ceremony in Balti and Cahul



Chisinau, February 22, 2013 — 661 young soldiers, graduates of the Initial Military Training Course, took their military oath today during some official ceremonies held in Moldova Brigade from Balti and Dacia Brigade from Cahul.

The oath ceremonies brought together leaders of the Ministry of Defense, local public authorities, veterans of the Armed Forces, as well as conscripts’ parents, relatives and friends.

Col. Vadim Cemirtan, Commander of Air Force Command, who attended the even in Cahul, congratulated the soldiers on their accession to the large military family and called them to be brave, committed and responsible about the military service “The Oath said in front of the Battle flag is a unique and emotional event for each young man. Today, by becoming real soldiers, you’ve assumed huge responsibilities. At the same time, you are to do a noble job — the one of defender of our homeland. Thus, I call you to be brave. Responsible and committed to all your activities”, Col. Cemirtan said.

The oath ceremony also marked the graduation of the initial military training course. Col. Dumitru Mudrenco, Commander of the Logistics Command, who attended the event in Balti, has highly appreciated the soldiers’ performance during five weeks of training. “These five weeks of military training was the first and the biggest challenge for all of you. However, you did a very good job in all the missions thus making you part of the army, where dignity and honor are the core values of success”, Col. Mudrenco said.

At the end of the ceremony, the soldiers marched in front of the officials present at the event. Then, all the guests watched wrestle exercises, weapon handling techniques demonstrated by the soldiers. The audience was also familiarized with the soldiers’ living conditions and technical equipment of the brigades.

After the event, the soldiers will get five weeks of holiday. Then, they will be distributed to all the National Army units.
