Acting Defense Minister Visits Military Academy



CHISINAU, April 8, 2013 — Acting Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta visited Alexandru cel Bun Armed Forces Military Academy.

First, the Minister of Defense had a meeting with the medal winners in the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship, whom he congratulated on their performance. “I am proud of your success and I would like to thank you for the results you have got in the competition. I hope that you will be as successful at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Turkey, honoring the national flag in front of the Jiu-Jitsu world community”, the acting Defense Minister said.

For performance at the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship and contribution to promoting professional sports in the world, Vitalie Marinuta awarded diplomas of honor and gifts to Moldovan fighters.

The official also met with nine female students admitted last year to Alexandru cel Bun Academy, as well as the graduates of the institution. Vitalie Marinuta talked to them about their studies and accommodation conditions and asked them to study hard for the yearly and graduation exams. “The National Army will reach European standards only by having skillful servicemembers. Hence, I ask you to show high quality knowledge, be serious and show great performance”, Minister Marinuta said.

The Defense Minister also attended the trainings of the Rugby team of the Military Academy.
