National Army Commander Attends Strategic Military Partner Conference in SwedenChisinau, June 26, 2013 — The Chief of National Army Main Staff, Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, attends the Strategic Military Partner Conference, held within June 25- 27, in Stockholm, Sweden. According to Col. Grigore Chirica, Deputy Chief of Strategic Planning Division, National Army Main Staff, this year, the conference topic is “Perspectives of partnerships.” Participants exchanged ideas and views on the changes and efficient cooperation with the Euro-Atlantic partners, through programs such as: Partnership for Peace, Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Initiative. During the visit to Stockholm, Brigadier Gen. Stoian had a meeting with Gen. Sverker Gőranson, Commander of Swedish Armed Forces. They discussed about the international security and defense, including the experience of neutral states in UN and OSCE peacekeeping missions. The Commander of the National Army also discussed about the bilateral cooperation aspects with his counterparts from Italy, Ukraine and Georgia. |
