Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta Meets With Bulgarian Defense Attache to Moldova



Chisinau, October 10, 2013 — Aspects of bilateral defense cooperation between the militaries of Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria were discussed today within a work meeting of Defense Minister, Vitalie Marinuta, with the Bulgarian defense attaché to our country, based in Bucharest, Commander Todor Penchev.

Vitalie Marinuta spoke about the performance of National Army servicemembers in world peacekeeping operations and the further participation of a military contingent at KFOR mission in Kosovo. “The National Army currently undergoes a reform process that highlights our engagement in promoting international security, through participation at different peacekeeping missions”, Defense Minister specified.

Commander Todor Penchev appreciated the National Army’s availability to enhance the Moldovan-Bulgarian bilateral relations. “As a defense attache of Bulgarian Republic, I will do my best to establish an appropriate environment to ease the implementation of some joint project in the defense area, including on the Moldovan officers’ professional training”, the Bulgarian official said.

Also, Commander Todor Penchev had a meeting with the Chief of National Army Main Staff, National Army Commander, Col Igor Gorgan.
