Lithuanian Defense Minister Pays Official Visit to Moldova

Chisinau, November 13, 2013 — Defense Minister of Lithuanian Republic, Juozas Olekas, will pay an official visit to Republic of Moldova, within November 13-14, at the invitation of Defense Minister of Republic of Moldova, Vitalie Marinuta.

The visit agenda includes discussions of delegations of the two ministries on the bilateral defense cooperation, within different international organizations, as well as the establishment of cooperation goals for year 2014.

During the visit to Chisinau, the Lithuanian Defense Minister will meet with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Natalia Gherman, and President Defense and National Security Advisor, Secretary of the Supreme Security Council, Alexei Barbaneagra.

Moldovan-Lithuanian defense cooperation dates back to November 2000.

Lithuanian Minister’s Visit Program at the Ministry of Defense (November 14):

8:30 — 8:40 — The official greeting ceremony of the Lithuanian Minister of Defense;

9:00 — 9:45 — Meeting of official delegations of National Ministry of Defense of Lithuania and Ministry of Defense of Republic of Moldova (protocol photography and video);

9:45 — 10:00 — Press briefing conducted by the Defense Ministers of Lithuania and Republic of Moldova on military bilateral cooperation between the two armies.
