Georgia Appoints New Defense Attaché to Republic of Moldova
Chisinau, November 21, 2013 — Defense Minister, Vitalie Marinuta, and the Chief of National Army Main Staff, Col. Igor Gorgan, met today with Avtandil Mikatsadze, Charge d’Affaires of Georgia in the Republic of Moldova.
The officials discussed about the current bilateral relations between Republic of Moldova and Ukraine in the defense area, as well as future perspectives of cooperation between the two armies.
Avtandil Mikatsadze was accompanied by the new defense attaché of Georgia accredited to our country, based in Kiev, Col. Zurab Pochkhua.
Vitalie Marinuta and Igor Gorgan congratulated Col. Pochkhua on the assignment, and expressed his hope that the official would contribute to the enhancement of the Moldovan-Romanian relationship and support the implementation of some new defense projects.
" I am sure that, along with the assignment of the new defense attaché, we will be able to identify all the necessary mechanisms to develop the Moldovan-Georgian defense relations and build a more dynamic cooperation in the future", the Minister of Defense stated.
Avtandil Mikatsadze appreciated the exchange of opinions and thanked the officials for the attention paid to the development of Moldovan-Georgian affairs. The Charge d’Affaires specified that this meeting is a good evidence of the Ministry’s of Defense leadership’s interest towards the bilateral cooperation.
