Admission to US Military Educational Institutions Starts

CHISINAU, December 4, 2013 — The Ministry of Defense informs that, beginning with December 4, Republic of Moldova citizens may apply for 2014 military scholarships at West Point Military Academy and the Air Force Academy, two of the most outstanding US military institutions of higher education.

Admission is open to all citizens of Republic of Moldova, men and women, aged 18 to 23 years old. Applicants should be graduates of a high school or an institution of higher level. Candidates must be unmarried and have no legal obligation to support a child.

Moreover, applicants must speak English fluently. Hence, they are required to submit a TOEFL exam score. All West Point candidates are also required to submit writing scores with their School Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) exams.

Applicants of West Point Military Academy and Air Force Academy will have to pass a few sports exams to evaluate their physical readiness level. The sports tests will be conducted by the Ministry of Defense, in partnering with the US Embassy to Chisinau.

Papers may be submitted to the Human Resource Directorate of the Ministry of Defense until December 20, 2013.

Both academies have a four-year educational program. Tuition for cadets is fully funded by the American Government.
