Defense Minister Discusses With Defense Attaches
Chisinau, December 20, 2013 — The Ministry of Defense recorded significant results this year in the achievement of the bilateral cooperation goal, and this thing was thanks to your personal engagement, Defense Minister Vitalie Marinuta said within a meeting with the defense attaches in our country hosted by the Center of Military History and Culture.
The Minister of Defense appreciated this year accreditation of 6 new defense attaches to Republic of Moldova. “Partner readiness to continue the assignment of military officials, in financial austere conditions, proves the confidence in the Republic of Moldova possibilities of development on the international arena, including for its active engagement in maintaining regional and international security”, the Minister of Defense said.
VitalieMarinuta also appreciated the defense attachés’ contribution to conducting bilateral activities, including military exercises, technical assistance and equipment, meetings and training courses, activities that focused on the National Army training and supply in compliance with the European standards. “Thank you for encouraging our cooperation and we count on your further support, as military officials, in the development of cooperation relationships, mutually beneficial for our troops”, Minister Marinuta added.
At the end of the meeting, the ethno-folk group “Dumbrava Verde” from Straseni sang some carrols for the military officials.
The meeting between the defense attachés and the Ministry of Defense is held yearly. Such meetings aim at familiaring officials with the current development of the National Army.
There are currently 29 defense attachés accredited to Republic of Moldova. The military bilateral cooperation includes technical-material assistance programs, consultancy, as well as professional training of Moldovan officers in international educational military institutions.
