Moldovan -Russian Meeting at the Ministry of Defense

Chisinau, June 5, 2014 — Defense Minister, Valeriu Troenco, met with the Russian Ambassador to Republic of Moldova, Farit Muhametsin, accompanied by the defense air attaché, Col. Victor Telesev.

The agenda of discussions included issues related to the Moldovan-Russian cooperation in the political and military area.

The parties agreed on enhancing the bilateral cooperation between the two countries by maintaining a constructive, honest and mutual dialogue in all the areas, including the military. The officials discussed the possibility to continue training National Army servicemembers in the educational institutions from Russia and carrying out joint exercises.

The intergovernmental Agreement of cooperation between Republic of Moldova and Russia was signed in July 1997.
