Military EOD Engineers On Duty



Chisinau, June 30, 2014 — The National Army EOD Engineers disposed this month 17 explosive devices, being called in 20 times in Ungheni, Cantemir, Anenii Noi, Hincesti, Causeni and Telenesti districts.

According to Maj. Nicolae Teleghin, Chief of EOD Division of the National Army, on June 28, the EOD engineers went to Todiresti village, Ungheni district, where a German 82 mm fire bomb-launcher dating back to World War II, was identified during agricultural works.

The quoted source specified that in June, the EOD Engineers also disposed 45 artillery projectiles of 76 mm caliber, anti-tank mines, F-1 hand grenades, as well as fire bomb-launcher bombs of different calibers.

This year, National Army EOD engineers were called in 123 times and disposed 371 explosive devices throughout the country.
