National Army Soldiers Carry out Night Shooting Drills in Balti



Chisinau, November 5, 2014 — The soldiers of Brigade “Moldova” from Balti and students of “Alexandru cel Bun” Military Academy carried out night shooting drills, on November 4, at the Training Centre of the military unit.

According to Commander of Brigade “Moldova”, Col. Veaceslav Rusu, the goal of the exercises was to train the servicemembers’ and conscripts’ night shooting capabilities.

The quoted source specified that 350 servicemembers of Infantry Brigade “Moldova” and students of “Alexandru cel Bun” Military Academy of the Armed Forces participated at the exercise. They fired RPK submachine gun using NSP-3 night vision sight, AG-7 and SPG-9 grenade launchers and DSK, KPVT, PKT machine guns.

The artillery units also fired PM-120 mine launchers, M-30 howitzer mortar with illumination and exploding bombs, all the targets being destroyed.

Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan appreciated the high readiness level of the servicemembers in specific combat conditions. The official pointed out that soldiers demonstrated confidence and professionalism while carrying out their missions.

The exercise was conducted in compliance with the combat readiness plan of the National Army to test the combat capacities of the military units in specific weather conditions.
