National Army Soldiers Leave for HohenfelsCHISINAU, February 6, 2015 — A National Army contingent will participate within February The Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, checked today the equipment and weapons of the 50 soldiers that are to be deployed to Germany. According to the commander of the Moldovan contingent, Col. Ghenadie Safonov, the exercise aims at training National Army soldiers’ practical skills and assessing their readiness for peacekeeping missions. The quoted source pointed out that the National army soldiers will carry out patrol missions by car or on foot, medical evacuation, as well as checkpoint escort missions, along with contingents from the USA, Georgia and the host country. The National Army has participated in military exercises in Germany since 2012.
