NATO Support and Procurement Agency Experts at Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, February 26, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, met today with a group of experts from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) at the Ministry’s of Defense HQ.

The discussions were centered on the joint projects implemented in our country in the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan Republic of Moldova — NATO, as well as on cooperation prospective for the two institutions in areas of common interest.

The Minister of Defense appreciated how the NSPA contributed to eliminate the risks caused by pesticides waste in our country and thus improved the environment quality factors and reduced the harmful impact on local population’s health.

Viorel Cibotaru expressed his confidence that, together with NSPA, it will be possible to identify efficient methods and means for continuing the ongoing projects. Thus, the Moldovan Government’s goal of destroying the pesticides will be reached as soon as possible.

Bulent Tudes, NSPA Programme Manager, appreciated the transparency and efficiency in using and managing the funds offered to Moldova by donor countries for carrying out the above project.

The official expressed the availability to support other projects launched in the Republic of Moldova, such as the project for capacity building to diminish the biological risks associated with Anthrax.

Also today, the NSPA experts discussed with Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, about the initiation of new projects through the Special affectation funds NATO/PfP.
