Moldovan-German Meeting at the Ministry of DefenseChisinau, March 25, 2015 — Minister of Defense Viorel Cibotaru and Ambassador of Germany to Moldova, Ulrike Maria Knotz, discussed today about the current Moldovan — German security and defense relations and the perspectives of development of this partnership. Viorel Cibotaru thanked the Ambassador of Germany for boosting the Moldovan-German relations in various fields, as well as the support provided in the reform and modernization of the National Army, the professional and language training opportunities for the Moldovan military staff within multinational exercises such as those from Hohenfels and Grafenwoehr training grounds and the donations of medical and technical equipment. Ulrike Maria Knotz appreciated Moldova’s active participation in international peacekeeping operations and stated that Germany would keep supporting and assisting Moldova. The parties also decided to continue the cooperation between Republic of Moldova and Germany through a variety of joint projects in different fields, including the military one. Moldovan — German defense cooperation agreement was signed in March 2003. |
