Dutch MPs Visit Ministry of DefenseChisinau, March 27, 2015 — Minister of Defense Viorel Cibotaru met today with a group of MPs on behalf of the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy from the Netherlands, run by the head of the party, Hans van Baalen. The event was also attended by ambassador of Netherlands to Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, Matthijs van Bonzel. Viorel Cibotaru informed the officials about the social-political situation in Moldova, the new projects of the Ministry’s of Defense leadership, the National Army reform, the review of the strategic defense and security documents, as well as the expansion of the cooperation relationship with foreign partners, including the Netherlands. The Minister of Defense appreciated the support of the Netherlands in training National Army soldiers and carrying out successful joint projects. The Dutch officials appreciated Republic of Moldova’s European Integration progress, as well as our country’s worldwide peacekeeping efforts, by deploying Moldovan officers and NCOs to international missions.
