Viorel Cibotaru Meets with Ambassador of China to Moldova

Chisinau, April 7, 2015 — Minister of Defense, Viorel Cibotaru, met today with Ambassador of China to Republic of Moldova, Tong Mingtao.

The officials discussed about the joint military cooperation, the regional situation, the Minister’s of Defense priorities and the future cooperation perspectives between the two militaries.

Viorel Cibotaru appreciated the support of China in training 17 National Army officers within Chinese military institutions of higher education.

Minister of Defense thanked the official for the donations of logistic, medical, video conference, and computer equipment and supplies, estimated at about 15 million Yuans (about 30 million MDL).

Tong Mingtao expressed availability to initiate and develop new joint projects beneficial for both countries.

Moldovan-Chinese military cooperation is based on the Agreement signed June 23, 2002, in Beijing.
