Servicemembers Take Care of the Graves of Soldiers Dead in WarCHISINAU, April 9, 2015 — The National Army servicemembers will carry out maintenance works on military cemeteries, common graves of soldiers, and monuments for the soldiers who died in wars, following the order issued by Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan. Thus, the servicemembers of Chisinau garrison will clean the soldiers’ graves and monuments of “Capul de Pod Serpeni” (Serpeni Bridghead) and “Eternitate” (Eternity) Memorial Complexes, as well as from “Armenesc” Central Cemetery and Sfintul Lazar Cemetery. Also, maintenance works will be carried out by the military and civil staff in the regions where the soldiers dead on battlefield are buried. According to Deputy Defense Minister, Ana Vasilachi, in Republic of Moldova, there are 294 military cemeteries with graves of soldiers from Romania, Russia, France, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Germany, and Poland, who died in the two World Wars.
