Spring Draft into National Army Starts

CHISINAU, May 14, 2015 — About 1000 young men from Republic of Moldova will be enlisted into the National Army, within May-June.

According to Chief of Personnel Division of the National Army Main Staff, Col. Sergiu Voinu, the enlistment has two stages. Thus, during the first stage, within May 13-14, 460 recruits will join the Anti-air Missile Regiment and “Stefan cel Mare” brigade.

Within the second stage, planned for June, other 540 young men will be enlisted in different military units of the National Army.

Col. Voinu specified that, after enlistment, the recruits will attend a 4-week training course studying the tactics, square bashing, military regulations, physical training, and other aspects of military education.

The mandatory military service in the National Army lasts 12 months.
