National Army EOD Engineers Dispose 35 Explosives in June


CHISINAU, June 30, 2015 — The National Army EOD engineers disposed 35 explosive devices in Causeni, Anenii Noi, Hincesti and Stefan-Voda districts, as well as in Balti city, in June.

According to LTC Serghei Chilivnic, specialist, EOD Division of the National Army, recently, the EOD engineers of the Engineering Battalion from Negresti were called in to Serpeni village, Anenii Noi district. Here, the residents discovered a 50-kg air bomb in the nearby sand quarry. The explosive dated back to World War II and was destroyed under maximum security.

Also, on June 22, the EOD engineers of “Moldova” Brigade neutralized 10 bomb-launcher bombs and artillery projectiles of different calibers in Balti.

This year, the National Army EOD engineers were called in 108 times and destroyed 193 explosive devices throughout the country.
