KFOR-3 Contingent on Duty in KosovoCHISINAU, July 6, 2015 — The servicemembers of the third National Army Contingent of, deployed to KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo in June, started carrying out missions in a theater of operations. According to Commander of National Army contingent in KFOR mission, Maj. Ianac Deli, in this period, the Moldovan peacekeepers were trained on “fire phobia” and crowd control. Also, the officers and NCOs familiarized with military vehicles of the Italian contingent, went on patrol missions for the assigned zones, as well as carried out security missions at “Camp Villaggio Italia” multinational base in Pech village, where are dislocated contingents from Italy, Slovenia, and Austria. Maj. Ianac Deli mentioned that the group of EOD engineers from the Moldovan contingent performed, together with servicemembers from other countries, EOD search missions at the Kosovo administrative border line. The source added that the KFOR-3 contingent will also execute patrol and guard missions at the sensitive facilities in the operations zone. The third National Army contingent was deployed to Kosovo on June 6, 2105. KFOR-3 consists of an infantry platoon of 33 servicemembers, 7 EOD engineers, and one staff officer. |
