Over 500 Soldiers Take Military Oath (video)



 CHISINAU, July 25, 2015 — Over 500 young soldiers took their military oath today at the Military Compound 142 from Chisinau.

During the event, Chief of Main Staff, National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Gorgan, congratulated the 518 soldiers enlisted in the National Army in June 2015.

Brigadier Gen. Gorgan mentioned that starting from today, the young men will do the miiltary service in the National Army units. He expressed his confidence that they will show responsilibty, discipline, and commitment to the missions given by their commanders.

The ceremony included an exhibition of vehicles and weapons, exercises, as well as an instrumental music performance.

According to LTC Igor Procop, Deputy Commander of the Guard Battalion, before taking the military oath, the young men attended a 4-week training course. During the course they familiarized with the life of a conscript and studied the tactics, square bashing, military regulations, and physical training.

LTC Procop mentioned that the soldiers will get a four-day leave. Then, they will be sent to all the National Army units to serve.

The mandatory military service in the National Army lasts 12 months.
