Ministry of Defense and OSCE Conduct a Course on Secure Transportation of Dangerous GoodsCHISINAU, October 5, 2015 — The Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with OSCE Mission to Republic of Moldova, organizes, within October According to Head of the Weapons and Military Vehicles Management Department of the Logistics Directorate, LTC Andrei Camerzan, 16 officers and NCOs from the military units participate in the course. The activity’s agenda will include aspects regarding the procedures of dangerous load transportation in compliance with European legislation. The source specified that the participants also familiarize with the risks connected to ammunition management, the national and international normative framework on secure transportation of dangerous explosive goods, as well as with the structure and reading of marking labels of transported dangerous loads. LTC Camerzan added that both theoretical and practical sessions, held at the Military training base from Bulboaca and “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, are conducted by four National Army servicemembers, who had been previously trained by experts from Switzerland and Germany. The course on secure transportation of ammunition and dangerous goods is part of a training project on ammunition and weapons stockpile management organized under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense and OSCE on the implementation of the Complex Program on Small Arms and Light Weapons and conventional weapons in Republic of Moldova, signed on October 28, 2010. |
