US Air Force Academy Offers Scholarships for Moldovan CitizensCHISINAU, October 28, 2015 — Republic of Moldova citizens are invited to apply for scholarships at the US Air Force Academy. The applications must be submitted to the Human Resource Management Directorate (HRMD) of the Ministry of Defense until November 15, 2015. According to LTC Andrei Pascal from the HRMD, the scholarships are open for candidates who meet the following requirements: age between 17 and 23 by July 1, 2016; graduates of high-school, college, or university. The source noted that it is mandatory for applicants to speak English fluently. Thus, they will take the TOEFL exam and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). Also, the candidates to the Air Force Academy will have to pass a Candidate Fitness Assessment. The testing will be conducted by the Ministry of Defense, together with the US Embassy in Chisinau, and will consist of basketball throw, pull-ups, shuttle run, crunches, push-ups, and mile run. The length of studies in the American military institutions is four years, and the costs are entirely covered by the US Government.
