Ammunition Management Training Course Conducted in the National Army



CHISINAU, February, 24, 2016 — A group of 18 National Army service members, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Border Police, are attending a training course on the management of weapons and ammunition, within February 23-March 11, 2016. The course is organized by the Ministry of Defense together with the OSCE Mission in the Republic of Moldova.

According to LTC Andrei Camerzan, Head of the Ammunition and Weapons Service of the Logistics Directorate, during this period, the participants study the ammunition technology, essential notions of chemical technology, techniques of marking, painting and inscription of different types of ammunition, and methods of packing the ammunition.

The source specified that the theoretical sessions are held by instructors from the National Army Weapons and Ammunition Center, who were previously trained on ammunition stockpile management, under the supervision of an experts group from Austria and Sweden.

The course is part of a training project on the weapons and ammunition stockpile management implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense and OSCE regarding the implementation of the Complex Program on Small Arms and Light Weapons and conventional weapons in Republic of Moldova, signed on October 28, 2010.
