More German Scholarships for National Army Soldiers

CHISINAU, April 6, 2016 — The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany will consolidate the partnership in the education and training sector. The decision was taken during bilateral talks held today at the Ministry of Defense. The meeting was attended by experts from both institutions.

According to Interim Head of Human Resource Management Directorate, LTC Andrei Pascal, the activity followed the initiative of the German partners, who proposed to broaden the range of specialized courses offered by the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany in the field of medicine, infantry, engineering, peacekeeping, as well as studies at the Command and Staff College and other institutions of higher education.

The German delegation has also expressed their availability to include in the assistance package training courses for National Army NCOs corps, as well as short-term activities involving Moldovan and German soldiers.

For 2015-2016 academic year, the Federal Ministry of Defense of Germany offered the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova seven scholarships. So far, 113 National Army service members have studied in military educational institutions from Germany.
