National Army Contingent KFOR-5 – One Month in Kosovo Mission



CHISINAU, July 6, 2016 — The National Army service members from the fifth contingent deployed to the peacekeeping operation KFOR in Kosovo started to carry out their missions in the area of responsibility.

According to contingent’s Commander, LTC Adrian Efros, last month, the Moldovan soldiers conducted missions of guard and defense of major importance facilities, patrol missions, and ensured the security of “Camp Vilaggio Italia” base in Pech village, where the contingents Multinational Battle Group — West (MNBG-W) are settled.

The source mentioned that, during the same period, our peacekeepers were trained by their colleagues from the Portuguese contingent on “fire phobia” and crowd control.

LTC Efros added that the group of engineers of the National Army contingent started searching the region in order to find and subsequently destroy the explosive objects left in the ground during the war.

KFOR-5 contingent left for Kosovo on June 5, 2016. The contingent consists of 41 professional service members.
