National Army Soldiers Trained on Topography and Geodesy (video)



CHISINAU, July 14, 2016 — A group of National Army soldiers is trained on topo-geodetic support during a specialized course held at the Military Topographic Center from Military compound 142, within July 4-15, 2016.

According to Head of the Center, LTC Eugeniu Marit, the course aims to train the practical skills in using maps, carrying out land measurements in order to determine the precision coordinates, orientation on field with and without navigation tools, as well as in creating geodetic network elements necessary for other units’ activity.

The source specified that the course is attended by 14 officers and NCOs from the units of topography and artillery research and it comprises theoretical and practical sessions divided into two important modules: topography and geodesy.

At the end of the training course, the service members will be tested and will develop working projects in this sector.
