Sea Breeze 2016: National Army Soldiers Train in Ukraine



Shirokiy Lan, Mykolaiv region, Ukraine, July 21, 2016 — The National Army contingent deployed to the multinational exercise “Sea Breeze 2016” participated, together with colleagues from Georgia, Ukraine, and the USA, in the exercise land component demonstrations, held today at Shirokiy Lan training facility, in the presence of mass-media representatives.

According to the scenario, the contingents executed different tactical movements such as: patrol, tactical medicine, fast rope, as well as building assault.

According to Commander of the Moldovan contingent, Maj. Grigore Adam, the National Army service members carried out missions of patrol by car and on foot and responded to an assaulton a mobile checkpoint.

The source specified that, subsequently, the National Army motorized infantry company will move from the Ukrainian training ground to Tendra Island in the Black Sea. Here, the Moldovan soldiers, together with military personnel from Georgia and Ukraine, will carry out, , tactical actions of amphibious assault using HMMWVs of the National Army.

“Sea Breeze” is a multinational peacekeeping exercise in the spirit of the Partnership for Peace. The National Army has been participating at the exercise since 2007.

This year, the exercise brings together troops from Bulgaria, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, the USA, Sweden, and Turkey.

“Sea Breeze 2016” is organized in Ukraine within July 18-31, 2016.

The National Army contingent participating in the exercise consists of 40 service members from “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, as well as the General Staff.
