National Army Celebrates Anniversary throughout the Country (video)



CHISINAU, September 3, 2016 — The Republic of Moldova celebrates National Army’s 25th anniversary of through a series of events held throughout the country.

Thus, in Chisinau, the Ministry of Defense leadership and the National Army Commanding Officer Corps laid flowers at Stefan cel Mare monument, “Eternitate” Memorial, “Maica Indurerata” (Grieving Mother) monument, at the tombs of National Army soldiers buried in the Central Cemetery and in “Sfantul Lazar” Cemetery.

Moreover, the Center of Military History and Culture will hold a show in Marii Adunari Nationale Square. The Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova, “Doina Armatei” folk band, “Cavalerii Armoniei” choral group, “Plaiesii” folk band, as well as the singers Vali Boghean, Natalia Proca, Aurica Dicusara, Cristina Scarlat, Anisoara Dabija, Mircea Zgherea will performduring the show. At the event, the exhibition “National Army’s 25th anniversary in 25 photographs” will be presented to the public.

In Balti, Hancesti, Cahul, Straseni, Ungheni, the service members from “Moldova”, “Stefan cel Mare”, “Dacia” Briagades, “Codru” Engineer Battalion, Special Forces Battalion “Fulger”, and the Artillery Unit organized exhibitions of weapons, military vehicles and equipment, wrestling and weapon handling exercises, competitions on assembling and disassembling a submachine gun and shooting drills with pneumatic weapons for children. Also, the craftsmen presented their works that were inspired by the National Army.

The National Army was created on September 3, 1991, through Republic of Moldova President’s Decree No. 194.
