Moldovan Peacekeepers Train at SmardanCHISINAU, September 29, 2016 — The National Army service members, together with soldiers from Romania and the United States of America, participate in the second stage of “Fire Shield 2016” exercise, conducted at Smardan Training Area in Romania, within September The training aims to increase the interoperability between the land artillery units of the three countries, training in compliance with NATO standard techniques, tactics, and procedures. At the exercise, the National Army is represented by 23 service members from the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion, while the Romanian Army participates with 30 service members from 52nd Mixed Artillery Regiment “General Alexandru Tell”.
