CHISINAU, September 30, 2016 — The service members from the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion who participated in “Platinum Lynx 6.5” showed adaptability to the tactical situations, ingenuity, inventiveness, and motivation to fulfill the missions at the highest level. This conclusion was made by the exercise’s co-director, Col. Paul Moglan, during the closing ceremony held at Babadag Training Area, Romania.

According to the National Army contingent’s Commander, Maj. Radu Popa, within “Platinum Lynx 6.5” training, the Moldovan service members had the role of a research platoon in the frontline mobile picket of the multinational forces and had the mission to research the field and to ensure the security of flanks on battlefield.

The source specified that the peacekeepers of the 22nd Battalion were trained by the US Navy Marines on field navigation, patrol, masking, search of targets on battlefield, and determination of initial data for shooting.

“Platinum Lynx 6.5” training is part of the multinational exercise “Black Sea Rotational Force 16” (BSRF 16) and brings together 600 service members from Romania, USA, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Serbia.

“Platinum Lynx 6.5” was conducted at Babadag Training Area from Tulcea, Romania, within September 19-30, 2016.
