Bilateral Meetings in Rome, Italy

CHISINAU, October 18, 2016 — Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru and his Italian counterpart Roberta Pinotti talked today about the military bilateral cooperation. The meeting took place within the South-East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) held in Rome, Italy, within October 17-19, 2016.

Anatol Salaru thanked the Italian Government for the logistical support offered to the National Army contingent within the KFOR operation in Kosovo. The Minister also called for strengthening the Moldovan-Italian defense cooperation and for identifying new cooperation areas that are important for both defense institutions.

Also today, Anatol Salaru met with Minister of Defense of Turkey, Fikri Isik, and talked about the importance of developing and reinforcing the military bilateral cooperation. The Minister of Defense expressed his gratitude for the opportunity for National Army service members to study in Turkish military educational institutions, especially in the Partnership for Peace Training Centre in Ankara.

Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru is participating in the South-East Europe Defense Ministerial (SEDM) within October 17-19, 2016. The Republic of Moldova attends the Defense Ministerial as observer.
