EOD Engineers from KFOR-V Contingent Conduct “Dog Tail Operation” (video)



CHISINAU, October 25, 2016 — The engineers from the National Army contingent, deployed to the peacekeeping mission KFOR in Kosovo, carried out the “Dog Tail operation” along the Administrative Boundary Line (ABL) between Kosovo and Serbia.

According to LTC Adrian Efros, KFOR-V Commander, “Dog Tail operation” was requested by Law and Police Mission EULEX from Kosovo and aimed to conduct a search in order to find and destroy the explosive remnants of war. The engineer team was helped by a dog trained to find explosive objects. The dog belongs to the Ukrainian army.

During the operation, the Moldovan engineers searched a twohectare-area and found two M87 mines and 10 explosive initiation mechanisms.

LTC Efros mentioned that “Dog Tail” operation was inspected by Commander of KFOR troops, Maj. Gen. Giovanni Fungo, and Commander of Multinational Battle Group West, Col. Giovanni Giagheddu.
