Tribute to Romanian Soldiers



CHISINAU, October 25, 2016 — This week, the National Army service members participate in the events celebrating the Romanian Army Day organized by the Embassy of Romania in the Republic of Moldova.

Thus, on October 24 and 25, Minister of Defense Anatol Salaru and National Army Commander, Brigadier Gen. Igor Cutie, together with officials from the Romanian Embassy and representatives of local public authorities, laid flowers at the Honor cemetery of Romanian heroes from Micleuseni village, Straseni district, and Heroes’ Cemetery from Chisinau.

In Micleuseni, Minister Salaru stated: “May these heroes rest in peace, while we always remember them and convey the truth about the Romanian soldiers’ heroism to our children and grandchildren who will also honor their memory”.

On October 26, the Center of Military History and Culture will host the exhibition “Military Priests during World War I”, an event organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu”.

The events celebrating the Romanian Army Day are attended by the service members from the guard and protocol unit of the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Moldova.
