National Army Service Members Train in Bulgaria



CHISINAU, December 12, 2016 — A platoon of National Army service members is participating in the multinational exercise “Platinum Lion 17-1”, conducted at the Training area Novo Selo from Bulgaria, within December 11-22, 2016.

According to contingent’s Commander, Maj. Igor Livitchi, the 29 infantrymen and three staff officers from “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade will train on shooting drills with infantry weapons and exercises for solving a tactical situation.

Maj. Livitchi also said that the Moldovan officers and NCOs deployed at “Platinum Lion” will train together with service members from Albania, Canada, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

The source specified that the exercise’s goal is the joint training of the contingents in order to increase interoperability.
