U.S. Government Donates Military Vehicles to National Army
CHISINAU, February 15, 2017 — The National Army received a new batch of military vehicles from the Government of the United Stated of America. The donation was based on the Cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the US Government, signed on March 21, 1994.
According to head of Logistics Directorate, Col. Iurie Bruma, the batch comprises 41 HMMWVs (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) and trucks.
The source specified that 34 military vehicles are already in Moldova, while other seven will reach the National Army by the end of March, 2017.
Col. Bruma added that the donated vehicles will be used by Moldovan service members during national and international exercises.
In 2014, the USA donated to the National Army other 39 HMMWVs and ten trailers.
