Service Members from Balti Garrison Get Military Housing
CHISINAU, February 25, 2017 — Today, 15 service members from Balti garrison received military housing. The apartment keys were handed by Deputy Defense Minister Gheorghe Galbura, within a ceremony held on this occasion in Balti.
Gheorghe Galbura stated that the goal of the Ministry of Defense leadership is eventually to provide all National Army service members with military housing. “It is important for the National Army to solve this acute problem — the housing issue and to provide service members with what they deserve, decent living conditions”, said Gheorghe Galbura.
According to Chief of Facilities Management Department, Col. Sergiu Voinu, the Ministry of Defense purchased the 15 apartments as a result of a public and transparent competition. The information was published in the Official Gazette of RM, No.
The source specified that the apartments have one room with areas ranging from 50 to 61 square meters.
Col. Voinu added that the apartments cost about 7.05 millions lei and were offered to service members based on Law No. 75 as of 04.30.2015 regarding housing and Regulation on the method of providing housing administrated by Ministry of Defense and National Army military units, approved by Government Decision No. 874 as of 12.22.2015.
This is the third project on offering military housing to National Army service members. In 2016, 129 service members from Chisinau and Cahul garrisons also received apartments.
